Claudius, Polonius, and Ophelia had just conversed about finding out if Hamlet is actually mad or just madly in love. After the conversation, they hide upon hearing Hamlet. Hamlet gives his "To be or not to be" soliloquy right after.
Ophelia gives Hamlet "remembrances" but Hamlet has no idea what is going on
Hamlet tells Ophelia to get herself to a nunnery and belittles her.
Hamlet goes on to tell her that he never loved her. He calls her sneaky and conniving. He says that she cant be trusted
Ophelia is heartbroken and begins her "O, what a noble mind is here o'erthrown" soliloquy. As Claudius and Polonius comes out of hiding.
The King and Polonius discuss what they had just heard. The king thinks that Hamlet isnt in love but Polonius feels otherwise. Claudius says that he will send Hamlet to England to give him some change but in reality Claudius is plotting to kill Hamlet once he arrives.
