Washington was inaugurated on April 30th in 1789. He was a little nervous because he would need to set the precedent. Later, his first job was to put a working government in place. Eventually, to build a working government, he created a group of advisors called "The Cabinet". The members and positions were, Alexander Hamilton (Secretary of Treasury), Thomas Jefferson (Secretary of State), and Henry Knox (Secretary of War).

The main financial crisis the US faced was that the US became deeply in debt of $52m and couldn't pay it back. As a result, Washington called Hamilton for help.
Problems in NW Territory
Hamilton's Financial Plan consists of three parts. The first part was, paying back all of the state and federal debt. The second part was, creating a national bank. Lastly, was to create high tariffs (this plan did not work because it was blocked by the South). As a result, only two plans worked, but were very successful.
The Whiskey Rebellion started off from farmers making whiskey to gain extra money and sold it around the country. Many farmers protested and refused to pay the tax. When officials in Western Pennsylvania attempted to collect the tax. But the farmers rebelled and burned down a home of a tax collector. Then, Washington responded by sending militia to stop the uprising. This event, known as the Whiskey Rebellion was the will of the government.
The beginning of the conflict was, there was a Treaty of Paris and that said that the British promised to leave the forts in the American territory. The problem was, 10 years later, the British were still at the forts and selling weapons to Native Americans. Then, they forced the Native Americans to sell their land, but the Natives that lived north of the Ohio river refused to sell. So the Americans and them had a battle called The Battle of Timbers. As a result, the Americans won!
The French Revolution first began in April 1789 and was different from the American Revolution. It differed from the American Revolution because the French were focusing on destroying an unfair class system, while the Americans were fighting for their independence. Later, the French declared war with the British because of the Jay Treaty.
