Storyboard Text

  •  I am DNA. In order for me to turn into protein, I first have to go through a process called transcription. During this time I become RNA.
  • Transcription occurs in the nucleus. I am "unzipped" and a mRNA strand is built as a copy of one of my genes.

  • Now that I am mRNA I can travel out of the nucleus and head to a ribosome.
  • Now that I have traveled to a ribosome, tRNA reads 3 bases at a time. Amino acids are attached in the proper order, creating a protein.

  • The amino acids continue to come together until I am a full strand of protein.
  • If a mistake were to be made during either of the processes , I may become mutated.  These mutations have the possibility of having negative or positive outcomes.
