Storyboard Text

  • Congress passes the 14th Amendment, which conferred civil rights for freedmen and reduced representation of states that suppressed the black vote.
  • Not to worry ol' Davis! We have the numbers to pass it anyway!
  • Ah! I knew he would veto it!
  • Let's not let former Confederates back in Congress, and states will have to pass the 13th and 14h amendment to get back in!
  • We added a great amount of seats in Congress, now we can get stuff done!
  • I've got it Wade I've got it! He wants to fire Stanton, so let's make it so a President cannot fire a member of his cabinet who was appointed by a former President!
  • What a great plan Davis, you doing anything after this session?
  • We need to get Johnson out of office. Let's make a plan!
  • You can't do that! I will not leave! You'll pay for firing me!
  • You're fired Stanton! Get out of here!
  • After Johnson fires Stanton, he is impeached by the House and the Senate acquits by just 1 vote. Johnson gets out of the way and Ulysses S. Grant becomes President.
  • Get out of here!
  • Welcome to the White House, Mr. Grant!
  • Congress passed the 15th amendment and the Enforcement Act of 1870. In 1872 Confederates were allowed to vote and hold office which ended Reconstruction.
  • No one should be kept from voting no matter their race, gender, or pre existing condition.
  • The government should be able to pass anyone who breaks this amendment.
