Did you know there where four governments of the French Revolution?
ENLIGHTENMENT IDEAS: Third, the new political and social values in society. Diderot declared that “man has only one duty: to be happy.” The Enlightenment thinkers’ goal was to apply rational analysis to all areas.
We are the most important people of the French Revolution.
ENLIGHTENMENT IDEAS: Fourth, public opinion. The idea that there is a clear difference between public life and private life appeared. State authority together with administrative organization were considered forms of public authority.
I can't believe how many consequences there were.
The national assembly was the first government of the French revolution it was created in 1789-1791. It was created by the third estate because they were mad about the unfair tax laws.
PRINCIPAL ACTORS: Louis XVI (King of France), Marie Antoinette (Queen of France, wife to Louis XVI), Jean Paul Marat (Owned the newspaper, "The Friend of the People" which helped spread Republican ideas.
CONSEQUENCES: All privileged classes were abolished. Capitalism became the new economic system. Slavery was abolished in all French colonies. In 1792, all non-propertied classes (workers, peasants, artisans) were given equal political rights. Social equality and Socialism became popular ideas.
CONSEQUENCES: Revolutionary France then proceeded to go through many different governments, many of which were despotic and dictatorial. After the revolution and the Napoleonic wars. Feudalism was destroyed.
