  • You have four days to decide whether to marry, or do the forfeit. 
  • I want to marry Lysander. 
  • Oh, my good Lysander
  • Wait for me, Demetrius
  • Where are they?
  • Once, in Athens there was a law that the father of the girl had to choose who she was going to marry. If the girl didn't want this then she would be punished. Here, Egeus has brought his daughter Hermia to court because she doesn't want marry Demetrius, who he has chosen, she wants to marry Lysander. 
  • NO. you said that wrong! We shall have to do this scene again. 
  • ROAR!
  • Oh a lion...
  • Lysander and Hermia decided to run away. They didn't tell anyone of their plan except Hermia's friend, called Helena. That very night, they ran away to the woods.  
  • No, I am keeping him. 
  • I want him
  • Meanwhile, Helena told their plans to Demetrius because she loved him, but he loved Hermia and he set off after them, followed by Helena. 
  • Puck, step forward. I would like you to go and get the magic plant called love-in-idleness. Go and put it on my wife's eyes. 
  • Meanwhile, a group of Athenian performers were planning to perform a play in celebration of the Duke's wedding. they rehearse for this in the same forest
  • Elsewhere in the forest, the fairy king and queen, Oberon and Titania are arguing over a page-boy that Titania has stolen. 
  • Oberon goes and collects all his servants.
