Storyboard Text

  • Traditional dancing is a part of the core structure of Aboriginal tradition. Aboriginal dancing is sometimes called Joonba, Wangka and Munga Munga. From time immemorial to the present day, dancing has been used by all Australian Aboriginal tribes both for ritual purposes and to express and represent many facets of their lives and beliefs.
  • Aboriginal people originally travelled in canoes, on rafts and on foot. Aboriginal people today, like everyone else, travel freely to most parts of Australia and overseas. However there are still many aboriginal people with close traditional ties to their home country who feel uncomfortable when they are in other countries.
  • Tools are instruments that are used for making things and performing daily tasks. Tools can be used for hammering, cutting, carving, grinding and killing animals when hunting. Tools have been used by people from the earliest of times.
