  • Caesar hears a soothsayer call out to him in the crowd. Caesar now hears the warning, but ignores it.
  • Beware the Ides of March!
  • Cassius suggests that Brutus's own humbleness won't let him acknowledge that he has a reputation for being honorable, and that everybody agrees about this except Caesar.
  • And it is very much lamented, Brutus, that you have no such mirrors as will turn your hidden worthiness into your eye that you might see your shadow.
  • Cassius sends Cinna to plant some letters Cassius has written in places where Brutus will find them. Cassius has impersonated other Romans in the letters, all of which praise Brutus.
  • Good Cinna, take this paper, and look you lay it in the praetor’s chair where Brutus may find it. And throw this In at his window.
