  • What my Helen can't see or hear!
  • Helen? Helen! Captain she can't see or hear, when I screamed she did not blink!
  • Doll D-O-L-L it's a name of a thing you just dont know it yet!
  • Oh look! she is a monkey she copies everything and doesn't know what she is doing!
  • Oh! You sneaky little girl, you can't get rid of me that easily! If someone started not letting me do what I want then I would try to get rid of them too!
  • In Tuscumbia, Alabama when Helen was little the doctor diagnosed Helen with acute congestion of the stomach and brain. After the doctor left Helen went deaf and blind from this sickness she had. Kate, Helen's mom screams when she notices and captain Keller comes in the room and they freak out. Over the next few years they are trying to find someone to teach Helen obedience and how to communicate. They found Annie and she is their last hope because they have tried everyone else.
  • If you hit me I will hit you back unlike your parents!
  • No! Bad Girl you need to learn obedience and some table manners. You should use a spoon not your fingers!
  • Annie meets Helen for the first time and Annie starts right away she spells into Helen's hand when Helen touches something. James thinks this is not doing anything and the whole family already doubts her because of her age. Helen doesn't like these changes because Annie won't let her do anything she wants like she is used to. Her parents pity her so she is a spoiled brat. For example if she throws a tantrum she gets sweet treats like cake to shush her up. Annie has lots of work ahead for her and Helen.
  • No Helen I am not spelling to you I am spelling to Percy. You didn't want to play the spelling game!
  • Is she gonna bite me?
  • Helen locked Annie in her room because Annie is making her do things she doesn't want to so she is mad. Helen hides the key in her mouth so no one can find it. Helen's goal is to get rid of Annie but Annie is very determined to get to a certain point with Helen. Annie is not going to give up she is going to keep spelling and hope for the best. Helen needs to be disciplined because she never learned what is right or wrong. Helen's parents do not treat her normal because of her disability's but they need to learn to discipline Helen.
  • Water W-A-T-E-R is a thing with a name can't you get that!
  • Wah-Wah
  • This is the dining room scene and it is very intense because Annie is teaching Helen table manners. They started in the morning when Helen was eating other people's food and Annie would not let her so Helen and Annie battled. It took them all day but Helen ate with a spoon, ate from her own plate, and folded her napkin. When Helen was not learning obedience Annie was about to give up but then she realized the problem was Helen's parents. Then they all agreed that Annie has 2 weeks alone with Helen to teach her as much as possible.
  • After Annie got alone with Helen, Helen didn't let Annie touch her because she didn't like that Annie didn't let he do anything she wants. Annie was smart and she got Percy to play the hand game with her and Helen got jealous. Once she could touch Helen she taught her obedience. With the small amount of time Annie couldn't teach her how to communicate. Annie started to connect to Helen but was still being haunted by her brother because he died in the asylum when she left. When Helen had to go back to her parents Annie was scared that her parents will undo everything that she work so hard on.
  • When Helen got back to her parents she started to test what she could do. Helen takes of her napkin and drops it on the floor and when Annie come to discipline her parents don't want her to. Helen then splashes a pitcher of water in Annie's face so Annie takes her to the pump to fill it up. When Annie is spelling to Helen and Helen touches the water she suddenly remembers what the word water means and she says Wah-Wah. Helen and Annie are so happy and Helen goes around touching stuff for Annie to spell in her hand. Helen finally gets it and Annie says "I, love, Helen forever, and ever." with no pain from the past but joy from the present!
