Storyboard Text

  • Chief inquisitor, Father Vincenzo Maculano da Firenzuo began the inquisition of Galileo on April 12, 1633.
  • Galileo was ordered to turn himself in for believing the earth revolves the sun, opposing the Catholic belief that the earth is the center of the universe.
  • Galileo denied that he actually believed this, but rather was discussing the possibility.
  • His argument didn't work and he was declared a heretic. The book of Dialogues of Galileo Galilei was banned from the public and Galileo spent the rest of his life on house arrest.
  • It took the Catholic Church 300 years to admit that Galileo was correct.
  • The End.
