Appearance vs reality

Storyboard Text

  • Mrs. Jones greets her third graders at the door. They are all excited for their first day of school.
  • Mary is attempting to be kind to the teacher, so she will end up on her "good" side.
  • Thank you so much Mary.
  • I can help you pick those papers up Mrs. Jones
  • Mary kicks Patrick because she doesn't want him to play in the sandbox. All the other kids notice the horrible act Mary just did.
  • You're not allowed to play here. Only the girls can play in the sandbox!
  • After a couple of days, Mary was no longer mean to anyone and was super friendly.  Mary and Patrick became best friends and did everything together.
  • Mary and Mrs. Jones were both taught a tough lesson today. Mary learned that she should not disrespect anyone. Mrs. Jones realized that some people may not seem the same way in front of everyone; she needs to watch out for people who are deceiving.
  • You need to understand that you can't be mean to your classmates. That is not nice. You also may not act totally different with me and your friends; that is unacceptable.
  • Fine
  • Mary dumps Patrick's homemade lamb sandwich, broccoli, cookie, and milk on the floor. His perfectly balanced meal is now gone! Mrs. Jones then realizes that Mary has been acting differently to her than with the students. Mary appeared differently than in reality.
  • Oh no!
  • STOP!
