  • HOMECOMING
  • Structure - there was some repetition used in this poem, there was also a lot of rhyming in between 'bringing them home' the author meant that because of all the dead soldiers coming home and the people at home are saying that they want their boys coming home and not dying there.
  • Meaning - the meaning behind the text was that their wasn't an end to the amount of dead soldiers in the war, another meaning was how sad the soldiers families were.
  • imagery - the poet forces the reader to imagine the dead soldiers lying all over the floor and the medics bringing them home. This makes the reader feel sad and empathetic for their men.
  • language - the language used in this poem was very meaningful and powerful to the reader and used evocative language.
  • Emotion - the poet wants the reader to feel sad about the fallen soldiers using powerful language like "the noble jets are whining like hounds.
