Hello! Today you will learn all about Mohenjo-Daro!
Mohenjo-Daro was a city in the Indus valley in Pakistan. The civilization lasted for about 200 years.
The Indus valley people were very lucky to have a huge river so close to them so they can have water to bathe, wash clothes, drink, watr crps, and hydrate their farm animals.
The homes in Mohenjo-Daro were very neatly planned and made. They were made up of bricks and mud. everything was made by hand. Some of the richer homes would have a patio, while others just have a top story with no roof.
Their bathrooms inside had a very clever way of getting rid of their sewage. The sewage would go down the drain with gravity and then end up way deep in the ground below the streets.
The great bath in Mohenjo-Daro was a religious thing to do. They believed that it was purification.
The people of Mohenjo-Daro would use seals as we know today, key chains. They would tie them on pots or baskets. So far, arciologists have found over 35,00 seals.
Mohenjo-Daro would often trade with another place in the Indus valley called Mesopotamia. For example, Mesopotamia would trade a dozen fish for 3 baskets.
