  • General Rules
  • Today we are doing an experiment. Follow the instruction EXACTLY to get the best results. Don't do anything it doesn't tell you to do.
  • Clothing
  • AHHHHH
  • Accidents and Injuries
  • It's okay. Don't panic. Thanks for letting me know!
  • Oh No. Mrs. Davis! I accidentally broke something!
  • Perform only those experiments authorized by the instructor. Never do anything in the lab that is not called for in the lab procedures or by your instructor.
  • Handling Chemicals
  • You do know you aren't supposed to take that out of class, right?
  • Look what I have
  • Dress properly for lab activities. Long hair must be tied back and dangling jewelry and loose or baggy clothing must be secured
  • Handling Glassware and Equipment
  • Report any accident (spill, breakage, etc.) or injury (cut, burn, etc.) to the instructor immediately.
  • Heating Substances
  • You probably shouldn't do that
  • Never remove chemicals or other materials from the laboratory area
  • Examine glassware before each use. Never use chipped, cracked, or dirty glassware.
  • Never look into a container that is being heated.
