The government has came up with a plan, and that is to start rugged imperialism.
And this is where you guys will be staying, in these Hoovervilles.
The 5 causes of the Great Depression were: 1. The Stock Market Crash of 1929 2. Bank Failures 3. Reduction in Purchasing Across the Board 4. American Economic Policy with Europe 5. Drought Conditions
President Roosevelt's New Deal
Good afternoon everyone, so I see that you are all ready to hear about my New Deal!
Rugged Imperialism is the virtuous ideal where an individual is self-reliant and independent from the outside assistance. And Hoover didn't want to use to much of the "Government" because he didn't want to make it seem like he was relying on them.
President Roosevelt's Second Bill of Rights
Now I will be going into talking about my Second Bill of Rights!
Hoovervilles were shantytown's built by unemployed and destitute people during the Depression. In Hoovervilles it was dirty, always crowed, and always had bad smells to them.
What's your opinion?!
Do you agree or disagree?
The New Deal was a series of programs and projects instituted during the Great Depression. This New Deal aimed to restore prosperity to Americans.
The Second Bill of Rights was a list of rights that talked about farmers' rights to a fair income, freedom from unfair competition, monopolies, and housing. Yes, I agree with it because it helped out farmers' and people that couldn't afford a lot, and were having a hard time.
I think the New Deal was worth it because it had many successes, and helped many people. 1. It changed many aspects of the government. 2. The Emergency Banking Act made the financial system more open, honest, and helped restore confidence.
