The election on November 8, 1960 Kennedy and Jonson won When John F Kennedy was elected president he became the youngest man to ever be elected the president of the United States. Kennedy also became the first Catholic to become president.
John F Kennedy was President of the United States from January 20, 1961, to November 22, 1963. Kennedy was apart of the democrat party and the vice president during his presidency was Lyndon B. Johnson. Eight months into his presidency he successfully negotiated the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty with Great Britain and the Soviet Union.

In 1960 when John F Kennedy was running for president, the virtriol directed against him because of his Roman Catholic faith threatened to defeat him. Kennedy experienced religious discrimination.
John F. Kennedy was asssassinated on November 22, 1963 as he rode in a motor car in Dallas Texas. His accused shooter was Lee Harvey Oswald, he never stood for trial for murder, because while being transferred after having been taken in to custody, he ws shot and killed by Jack Ruby, a distarught Dallas night club owner.
