My Great-Grandparents moved from their Source-Country of France to their destination country of the U.S.A. An example of International Migration. They were emigrants of France, and immigrants to the U.S.A. This was not part of a major migration stream.
I can't believe we are moving to Louisiana! I will miss France a little bit though.
One pull factor was the safety from the war in the U.S.A, and one push factor was the results of the 1st World War in France. Them moving to the U.S.A. matches Ravenstein's 3rd law of migration.
My great-grandparents later moved to Texas, where my grandma was born. This was voluntary migration, but there was no selective migration. This was considered to be Interregional migration. This matches up with Ravenstein's 1st law of migration.
My grandma lived in Bellaire, Texas, which is where she gave birth to my mom.
My parents met in Miami. They decided that it would be best to live in Houston.
