  • In the story a mongoose named Rikki Tikki was washed from his home from a bad rain storm. He ended up on the garden path of Teddy and his family in India. He became their protector and pet.
  • Climax
  • If you move I strike if you don't move I strike
  • While out exploring the garden, Rikki heard some birds crying. He found out that a snake named Nag had eaten one of their babies. Rikki knew it was his job to take care of the cobra.
  • Falling Action
  • Soon after Rikki found out that Nag was in the garden, he also found out that there was another snake in the garden named Karait. One night Rikki heard something out in the bathroom. He went to go look what it was, it was Nag trying to kill Teddy's family. 
  • Resolution/Ending
  • Rikki met Nag's wife Nagaina. Nagina learned that Rikki killed Karait Nag was gone as well. But Nagaina thought that the big man had killed Nag.
  • Nagaina then sat there and said, "If you move I strike. If you don't move I strike" Meanwhile Rikki was down where she kept her eggs and he was braking all of them. Rikki saved one brought it up to the bungalow.
  • As Nagiana looked over she saw her egg and ran. Rikki was following her into her borrow. Rikki suddenly bit Nagiana's tail and went down with her. Again Rikki came out of the hole and told everyone, "All the cobras ar dead."
