Storyboard Text

  • Photosynthesis is the process in which plants take sunlight and carbon dioxide to make their own food (glucose).
  • Photosynthesis is important because when plants make glucose  try pass down their energy to humans and we take in their nutrients.
  • The products in photosynthesis are glucose(C6H12O6) and oxygen(6O2).
  • "I take in the oxygen that the plants give off during photosynthesis!"
  • "Hey! Do you know what the reactants are in photosynthesis?"
  • "Yes! They are  carbon dioxide (6CO2) and  Water (6H2O).
  • There are two stages in photosynthesis, the light stage and the dark stage (calvins cycle).
  • Light-dependent reactions, which take place in the thylakoid membrane, use light energy to make ATP and NADPH.
  • The Calvin cycle is a series of biochemical redox reactions that take place in the stroma of chloroplast in photosynthetic organisms.
