Storyboard Text

  • Oh hey, have you heard about the new representative?
  • Yea, I saw it on the news the other day.
  • I'm so glad the the United States has a representative democracy, it makes things so much easier.
  • Yea, but I do like the idea of a direct democracy.
  • What is that?
  • Well it's where every citizen can vote on whatever the issue is.
  • I like how you can really voice your opinion. In a representative democracy the representative can say whatever he wants. He doesn't have to vote on what the people say.
  • Oh, but in  representative democracy we vote for a representative to decide on the issue.
  • What other things do you like about direct democracy?
  • Right
  • Yea I guess but if everyone voted then there would be hundreds of votes and would take up to much time to fix the situation.
  • Right, there's not really a better form of democracy because each form has its pro's and con's.
  • That's true, I guess for each type there are many pro's and con's.
  • I agree
