  • Good morning class! Today, we will be learning about mitosis!
  • Uh oh... this sounds hard.
  • Mitosis is a part of the cell cycle that consists of four phases: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
  • To make this easier for you guys, I have made a short story so you guys can grasp the general idea of this process.
  • Cell Division:MITOSIS
  • During this process, chromosomes in the cell condense, turning themselves into sister chromatids. After, the nuclear envelope breaks down.
  • Prophase:
  • After prophase, a collection of microtubules, called mitotic spindles, form causing the chromosomes line up.
