Christopher Boone has just noticed the death of his neighbor's dog, Wellington. He decides to investigate his death further.
After hearing the truth, Christopher feels that because his father supposedly turned on him, he must leave and prove himself in the real world.
Christopher takes the train and subway to live with his mother in London. His actions confuse passersby, but he doesn't care about that.
Christopher attempts to live with his mother, but her boyfriend, Roger Shears, does not approve of this, so the two of them return to Swindon.
Christopher takes his A-level math test. hoping to carve a path he can take to become a mathematician or physicist.
Christopher reunites with his father and gets an A on his math test. After seeing these successes and knowing that he was able to be confident and find his mother alone, he gets the impression that he will be able to achieve his dreams
