Reverend Parris- Minister in Salem, likes power, paranoid, self-pitying, a lot of people don't like him.
John Proctor- He is a "stern, harsh tongued man, hates hypocrisy", had an affair with Abigail Williams. He does not say anything bad about her because he doesn't want people to know what he did. Tituba- Black slave for Rev. Parris, from Barbados, performs voodoo, practices black magic
Betty Parris- 10 yr old daughter of Rev. Parris. Danced in forest with Tituba then fell into a weird daze. Her and Ruths illness started rumors of witchcraft.
Marry Warren- Proctors servant, one of Abigail's group of girls, timid, lets others influence her, tried to expose hoax
Rev. Hale- minister, young expert and hater of witchcraft, came to check out Betty, Christian, intelligent. The craziness started when he came to town. He later tried to save the accused
