  • Witches were often thought to be "evil".  Also in a way scary!
  • The Salem Witch Trials were a series of hearing and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft.
  • No-one was safe from this, "disease"
  • 200 people were accused and tried but only 19 were found guilty, thus sentenced to death by hanging. 
  • Witchcraft is the practice of dark, black, or evil magic with the use of spells/voodoo. 
  • Witches sound to be puritans that got conflicted in the mind and started practicing satanic rituals in a christian village of Salem. It was described as a disease capturing women, men, and even children, and all started with a 9 and 11 year old girl throwing fits and being diagnosed with the suffering the effects of witchcraft
  • As 1692 passed into 1693, the hysteria began to lose steam. The governor of the colony, upon hearing that his own wife was accused of witchcraft ordered an end to the trials.
