Let us celebrate Pentecost
One day, a new playground opened up right next to a school full of kids so they can play on it. Then, a big sixth grader named Jesus was the first kid to play on the new playground. This means that Jesus is the leader of the new playground. He called his new playground the Church. Jesus says in Matthew 16:18, "... upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
Jesus then sat down with all of the younger kids who loved him and told them about his Church. First, Jesus called all of the younger kids he loved his disciples. Second, he told his disciples about the teacher who would always watch over them while they would play on the playground. Jesus named this teacher the Holy Spirit. Lastly, Jesus told all of his disciples to make traditions about something they would do on the Church every time they would play on it.
Then, sadly, the last day of school arrived. The last day of school is when the teachers, the principle, and the students leave the school go home for the summer. Jesus decided that everyone should celebrate the last day of school, and he would call this celebration, Pentecost. The bible says in Acts 2:1, "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place."
