Tom is throwing the football to Rob, but there is a defender in the way of Rob. Tom needs to know at what angle the ball needs to be to travel at. Tom knows that the defender is 6ft tall and the ball has to travel 5ft. Tom used Tan-1(6/5) and figured out the ball had to travel at 50 degrees.

Once Tom found out what angle the ball needed to be thrown at, Rob was able to catch the football. Now that Rob has caught the football he now needs to run it into the endzone before the defender gets him. Rob knows that the angle he has to run at is 33° and the height he has to run is 10ft. To find how far he has to run Rob used Sin 33°=10/x and found that x=18.4 ft. Which means that Rob has to run 18.4 ft to get in the endzone for a touchdown

After scoring the touchdown Tom and Rob have to kick the extra point into the field goal post to win the game. Tom who is kicking knows that the angle of depression to the football is 45°. Tom also knows he has to kick it 15ft to make it to the goal post, but needs to know how high he has to kick. To find how high he has to kick Tom used Sin 45°= x/15 and found that x=10.6ft. Which means to hit the extra point Tom needs to kick the football 10.6ft high.
