  • Description of the young man.
  • Description of mans life before in Vietcong Battalion.

  • Kiowa realizing what this young man in front of them could have been thinking before he died. Also observing the way he looks and thinking about what his life could have been before he died. Azar don´t understand why Kiowa is feeling upset about him killing the man. 
  • Things the young man carried.
  • Kiowa believes this young man was born around 1940s. This man had died from a slit in the back of his neck where he had bleed to death. His face was full for blood and scars. Skinny and looked health. He had a gold ring on the third finger on the right hand.
  • Kiowa talks to the dead young man.
  • The young man went to a university and studied mathematics in Saigon. Was very smart and always paid attention in all his classes. In the final year of his schooling he fell in love with one of his classmates. One evening the couple did exchange rings.
  • Goodbye to the young man.
  • Kiowa found the man´s shoes that were dusty, as he reached down he found a pouch of rice, a comb, a fingernail clipper, a few soiled piasters, and a snapshot of the young girl standing in front of a motorcycle and the gold ring. Kiowa puts all the mans items by the trees and bushes. 
  • Kiowa talks to him as if he was alive. Explaining that the moment he stepped out in sight he was dead on the spot.
  • Kiowa puts a pancho over the dead man near his things he had carried. Kiowa and Azar have to get going, so Kiowa said his goodbyes and the man.
