- Well... if the side lengths are 14 and 16. The problem would be a^2 + b^2= c^2. 14 times 14 is 196. 16 times 16 is 256. If I add those together it would equal 452. So far the equation is 452= c^2. The diagonal is 452 square rooted which is 21.3 feet rounded to the nearest tenth. So the diagonal of the bed is 21.3 feet!
