  • Since   France spent more money then they collected in taxes , they lost a lot of money.  The nobles and the clergy who were the largest property-holders in France,  paid few taxes.  There is is big problem that there country spent to much . With the money they could not bare to waste on things they did not need. 
  • Also, food prices were very high and pay was very low. The previous kings of France recklessly  spent money on wars .  They helped the Americans and gave them money that they could have used. All of the feudal practices were draining the government and also hurting the poor people of France. 
  • There was a meeting called for the national assembly. King Louis  was the person that called this assembly.  The meeting held of three groups, The Clergy, the nobility, and the common people.  When King Louis called the meeting he told a group in Paris to tell  the people in the meeting, all of the stuff they should do for the meeting. 
  • The National Assembly was formed outside of the palace at a tennis court. The third estate walked out and formed the national assembly.They made an oath at the tennis that was promising France that they would be in the Constitution. 
  • This was the time when the peasants went  to the power of the French soldiers. While they were there they got themselves guns and gunpowder and used it to kill all of the French soldiers. This occured on July 14th located in Paris France. This happened in the year of 1789. Later this day was known as the French independence day or Bastile day
  • The declaration of the rights of men was to show that men are born and remain free and equal in rights.  It stated that all people shall not be accused, arrested, or imprisoned  except in the cases and according to the forms prescribed by law.   It also said that all citizens  being  equal  in the eyes of the law , are equally eligible to all dignities and all public positions.
