Eleanor and Park By: Rainbow Rowell Genre: realistic fiction
"The new girl took a deep breath and stepped farther down the aisle. Nobody would look at her. Park tried not to but it was kind of a train wreck/eclipse situation" (7).
"Would he look different? Now that she knew he loved her? (Or that he had loved her, at least for a minute or two on Friday night. At least enough to say so)" (120).
Presentation by: Ava Griswold
EXPOSITION: Park sees Eleanor, the new girl, board the bus. While everyone else sees this as an opportunity for harassment, Park was intrigued by her and kept silent.
RISING ACTION: The more and more Eleanor and Park sit next to each other on the bus, the closer they get. They start to develop feelings for each other and eventually start dating.
