Queen Esther was one of the wives of King Xerxes and lived with him in the palace. Esther had a secret that not even King Xerxes knew and that was, that she was Jewish. Always looking out for her and working in the palace was her cousin Mordecai who was also Jewish.
King Xerxes had an adviser named Haman who worked for him. Haman did not like Mordecai and promised he would kill him and all of the Jews, And of course the King agreed.
Mordecai was very scared and told Queen Esther straight away as she was the only one who may be able to convince King Xerxes that the Jews were not bad people like how Haman had explained them to be. Esther was scared and unsure if she was brave enough to confront the King .
Esther courageously went to King Xerxes. He thought she was very beautiful and told her she was welcome to enter the throne room. She asked the King if they could have dinner with Haman and he agreed.
While at dinner Esther told King Xerxes that Haman was going to kill her and all her people (the Jews) the King instantly got angry and ordered his people to kill Haman right then.
Now all the Jews were saved thanks to Queen Esther's bravery and they could all live humbly and happily. They all celebrated by having a feast!
