Today class, we will be learning about the Cell Theory.
We will start the discussion off by talking about Robert Hooke. Hooke contributed to the cell theory by discovering the cell structure and named the term cell.
The second scientist that we will be talking about is Robert Brown. Robert Brown contributed to the cell theory by reporting the discovery of the nucleus.
The next scientist is Matthias Schleilden. He proposed that all plant tissues are composed of cells, and that cells are the basic building blocks of all plants.
Next is Theodor Schwann. His contribution to the cell theory was that he created the idea of cell theory and concluded that all tissues are made up of cells.
The final scientist that we will be talking about who contributed to the cell theory is Rudolph Virchow. Virchow added the 3rd part to the cell theory which that cells form from preexisting cells.
