In a small town in Kansas, there was a flock of birds that noticed hazy black smoke heading near their home. They were scared and didn't know if it would hurt them.
It was time for the birds to migrate and they had to go straight through the mysterious fog. They could try going over or try blasting through the fog.
Why did he fall?
One bird named Fred who was very brave and adventerous decided to try and blast through the fog, but the others believed that it was best to fly over. As Fred got deep into the fog his throat started to get dry, his eyes started to water, and he could feel his air way shortening.
As the smoke thickened and dirt from the air started attaching to his wings, Fred realized he wasn't going to be able to fly any longer. As he fell he tried to grasp his claws on the air, but it was no use, he wasn't going to make it.
Fred was almost to the ground, but luckily a worker at the factory was on her lunch brake. She saw Fred plunging down and ran over to catch him. She got down on her knees, held her arms out, and saved Fred's life!!! She started questioning why he fell and rushed him to the vet.
Once she got to the vet, the vet immediately figured out that his lungs were inflamed from pollutants in the air. The worker gasped in fear. She knew it was her company's fault and she knew she had to fix it.
