Storyboard Text

  • The Beginning of The Aztecs
  • Universal Education
  • Herbalism
  • The Aztec civilization began around the 13th century. They settled in the south entered region in pre-Columbian Mexico. We do not know their exact origins, but we think that they come from a northern tribe of huntergatherers.
  • Floating Gardens
  • I think that universal education was the most important because it taught kids and they could have good ideas and then it would help them invent new things.
  • Aquaducts
  • I think that herbalism was very important because they could create medicine. They could help more of their people survive.
  • Jaguar Warriors
  • I think floating gardens were really important because even though growing the food there wasn't the healthiest, they were still able to grow food.
  • I think that aquaducts were really important because since they couldn't drink the salt water, they were still able to build aquaducts to bring in fresh water.
  • Jaguar warriors were elite members of the military force. To become one, you had to capture twelve enemies during two consecutive battles. Jaguar warriors wore the skin of the jaguar because they believed it would grant them the animal's powers.
