Ephraim Winship and two guards are attacked while farming. The guards die and Winship is left for dead. The goods are lost to the elements and some people in the fort die. Farming was a part of their culture.
One mile east of the fort that the government paid for they search. They find him alive but inherently missing two scalps.
He dies June 4th 1766
He returns to the fort later in New Marblehead. Alive and well but missing two scalps. This is in 1756 May 15 or 16th.

Ephriam marries someone then has four more kids after being scalped.
Ephriam Winship dies at the age of 55 due to natural causes. He was a father and a survivor of one of man's most gruesome acts.
