"Mrs. Murphy really listens. But I guess I knew that." Carley might now realize that Mrs Murphy really cares and wants her to feel like she is part of the family. This might change things of how Carley thinks of Mrs. Murphy and the family.
"...we're only in Connecticut because my grandfather died." This might change how Mrs Murphy sees Carley and why Carley has acted the way she has acted. Also, Mrs Murphy will try to be more sweet to Carley and understand the pain she is going through.
"I'm even more shocked that the Murphys aren't perfect after all." Carley might now try to fit in the family now because she realized that they have some problems to. This might change things on how she sees the family and how she tries to fit in the family.
"Why does she pretend that we have some...I don't know...some relationship." This question makes me wonder how their relationship is going to be at the end of the book. This question tells me that Carley does not want to be with the Murphys.
" What would it be like to love someone like that? Does my mother know what that's like?" This question makes me wonder if she is every going to feel the love she feels that Mrs and Mr Murphy have and if her mom felt this way ever before.
"You do know I love you right?" This question makes me wonder if her mother actually loves her and if Carley loves her back. It tells me that Carley's mom really does love her even after what happened to her at the house.
