Setting: In the story we find out that most of the events happen in Madame Loisel's apartment.
Theme: While reading this short story by Guy de Maupassant, I discovered that the theme was all about wealth. For example, Madame Loisel only cared about how others viewed her self-beauty and what she wanted, like the necklace.
Flat or Round Character: Madame Loisel is definitely a round character rather than a flat one since she changes throughout the story. After she loses the necklace, she has an attitude towards life that she never had before which is a major change in the story.
Dynamic or Static Character: Madame Loisel is a dynamic character because she is only cares about money and what she looks like- realizing that it doesn't matter.
Foreshadowing: Madame Forrestier easily lends Madame Loisel the necklace. The jeweler says, “It was not I who sold her the necklace, I merely supplied the clasp.”
Plot terms- Resolution: The resolution of the story was when Mr. Loisel bought another necklace that was real and cost 36,000 francs, but had to pay it off for a VERY long time.
