  • Ok, im coming. Lets get them and head back

  • How dare you not go and find stones for the lottery, you're a disgrace to this town!
  • Tone and Theme-Tone
  • welcome all, please admit your ticket to the black box to join the lottery.
  • The stones represent fear, death, and anticipation because they're used to kill people for the lottery.
  • Images - Sound
  • "Her father spoke sharply" is an example of personification because words themselves cane be physically sharp.
  • Figures of Speech - personification
  • "The lottery creates suspension among the people" The lottery is basically a death sentence for a random person, and not knowing who creates fear and suspension in the story.
  • Blank
  • The sound of the rocks being thrown and hitting the ground and the woman. This is an example of images because the rocks make a sound and help set the mood and feel of the situation.
  • CRASH!!
  • "The black box grew shabbier" is an example of personification because a box can become shabby but it can't actually grow to be shabby.
  • The black box faded, and the wood softened to be thin and flimsy
