Two feuding families live in Verona named Capulet and Montague. The Capulet's have a daughter named Juliet and the Montague's have a son named Romeo. The two meet at a party and instantly fall in love despite their names.

Romeo goes to a man named Friar Lawrence and asks him to marry him and Juliet. He agrees on the account that this may reunite the feuding families.

Romeo kills a Capulet named Tybalt in defense of his good friend Benvolio. The Prince of Verona finds out and banishes Romeo from Verona forever.
Juliet is put into an arranged marriage to a man named Paris who she strongly dislikes. She goes to Friar Lawrence for help and he tells her to drink a potion that will make her seem dead. Once she is put in the tomb Romeo will come rescue her and they can live happily ever after.
Romeo does not receive news of the plan, only that Juliet is dead. He goes to her tomb and drinks poison to reunite himself with her. Juliet soon wakes up after and realizes he is dead. She then takes a knife and stabs herself, committing suicide too. This makes the two families realize their feuding needs to end.
