  • Sedition Act
  • This was a case that was took to the Supreme-court which meant it was pretty serious. The people who were on the case was William Marbury  versus James Madison and the case was led by John Marshall. What this case established was the judicial review, what the judicial review did was the Supreme-court can limited the congressional power.

  • The Sedition Act started on 1798 at the same time when the Alien act started or was passed. President John Adams agreed to passed the Sedition Act which meant that if you said something bad about the government you would be arrested. It was illegal to talk bad about the government that's what the Sedition act mostly did.

  • Thomas Jefferson was the president during the time of the Louisiana purchase. During that time the president had France as a "neighbor" which was a disaster but anyways. Before France took over Louisiana, Spain closed the New Orleans port to the Americans. Which the U.S bought  Louisiana for $15 million and deal was done.
