The soldiers wanted the Cherokees land, so they kicked the Cherokees out of there own home. It was the most terrifying thing in the world.
In the late 1700s settlers wanted more land so they went west, where the Cherokees were. It was so sad how the settlers kept on taking things away from the Cherokees.
The soldiers then found the Cherokees, so then they locked them up. Later, the soldiers found out that there was gold on there land, so they kicked the Cherokees out of their land.
In 1838, American soldiers came to the Cherokees in New Echota. They came to steal their home. Some soldiers hated the Cherokees and others felt bad. It was the most heartbreaking moment in history. They even had to leave some of their family pets behind.
The soldiers told them to go on a long journey somewhere else, so the Cherokees started their journey. The Cherokees went through different storms and other climates. Some young and elderly died.
Even though the soldiers took the Cherokees and locked them up, they finally got out and made a long journey to Oklahoma. Family members died,but they still made it to their new home.
