Storyboard Text

  • This is a mosque. The tall tower is called a minaret. People of the Islam religion worship in minarets. They are believed to be closest to God. In the religion of Islam, they worship often, and on mats.
  • Christians worship in a churchs, which do not have minarets. They do have a bell tower, which they ring during the beginning of mass. Mass is served every Sunday, and the people worship in pews. These are some differences between Islam and Christianity.
  • Both religions believe in one God. Also, both believe in a bible or a Qur'an, a holy book of some sort. Christianity and Islam also both believe in Jesus Christ, and both worship their beliefs.
  • Muslims were one of the first people to create better math. They started by combining ancient Indian and Greek . We still use their math to this day.
  • One of the Muslims great scientific achievements was astronomy . They studied the stars and improved their sense of time and clocks greatly.
  • Muslims extended freedom to other religions by still letting them practice their religion, even though they were in Muslim territory. There were two rules, a special tax, and no converting anyone else, but if a person wanted to be a Christians or a Jew, they could.
