  • Leeuwenhoek created his own microscope. He discovered bacteria, and called them "animalcules".
  • These are animalcules!
  • Hooke named them "cells", the way we know them today.
  • Let's call them "cells".
  • Schleiden and Schwann both agree that all living organisms are made up of cells.
  • Animals are made out of cells.
  • Plants are made out of cells.
  • Schleiden and Schwann argue about how cells are formed.
  • Cells produce more cells!
  • Cells materialize!
  • Schwann was backed up by Virchow and was correct, but Virchow's research and information was stolen from Remak.
