France, The king never paid much attention to Acadia. France would concentrate more on protecting new France, Acadia was helpless against attack .
In 1694 new England attacked Port Royal and took it away from the french.They eventually gave it back in the peace treaty of 1697.
One of the most important wars between France and Britain was the war of the Spanish Succession. It took place in 1702 and ended in 1713. Britain fought this war to stop the french from taking over Spain and it's colonies.
The war of Spanish Succession led to the France's loss of Acadia. Britain gained control over Acadia and the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. In 1713 France and Britain made a peace treaty in the Netherlands, both countries agreed to give back some of the colonies.
