An old man named Gloucester also has family problems. His illegitimate son Edmund makes him think that his legitimate son Edgar is trying to kill him. Which calls Gloucester into calling a man hunt for Edgar. Edgar disguises himself as s beggar named "Poor Tom" Edgar also heads out onto the heath during the enormous storm like Lear did.
He he did father I'll tell the men to go after him.

Leave father out there in the storm lock the gates and don't let him in.
Gloucester finds out whats happening to Lear and he feels as tho he can relate to Lear and his family problems. So despite Gonreli and Regan telling him not to help Lear he does. He goes out into the storm and helps Lear find shelter.
How could you betray your father in such a manner ?!?!?
Leave him out there you are not to help him or you will be punished.
Regan and her husband Cornwall find out that Gloucester was helping Lear so they send guards to go after him. They bring him back to Regan's house and they gouge out Gloucester's eye's and blind him. Then they send him out back into the storm alone. Gloucester wanders off into the terrible storm. He ends up being led by Edgar his son in disguise as "Poor Tom" to Dover city.
Gonreli poisons Regan out of jealousy for Edmund then she kills herself when Albany finds out she was going to have him killed. Gloucester dies later on. Edmund duels with Edgar. Then Edgar kills Edmund. Edmund's betrayal of Cordelia leads to execution. King Lear dies of grief from Cordelia's death.
Albany, Kent, and Edgar are left to rule the kingdom of Britian in a cloud of sorrow and regret.
