  • After a year and half of lobbying she left the Lorelo convent and wandered into the city. After medical training in the city she went to Calcutta slums to help the poor.
  • Faithfulness
  • She showed devotion because she gave aid to the people who were poor living in Calcutta. She also taught them to read and write.
  • Strong
  • She showed great compassion because soon after she helped the poor in Calcutta she started the Missionaries of Charity which helped worldwide to end poverty.
  • Wisdom
  • Her life was devoted to God. Throughout her acts of mercy, she never lost the faith she had in the Lord. She knew that his strength would give her power to help all those in need.
  • After working with the poor in Calcutta, she decided to visit her home town. She was faced with much negativity, but she continued to press forward. She was a woman with a strong mission.
  • Slowly after her health declined, but she received the Noble Peace Prize of 1979. She was a woman with a big heart who was smart and dedicated. She was a inspiration to the world.
