One day on another journey through the railroads, a group member told Tubman that somebody had just joined our group and claims to know Tubman and would like to speak to her. Tubman had no idea who this could be.
It was Martha! I haven't seen her every since we were separated from the other plantation when I was just a kid. We would always help each other to get out of trouble.
She was my fellow leader and we helped get all the slaves to the free states. I invited her over to come to my house after this trip.
We were able to talk for hours and caught up with out lives and what we have been doing for the past few years.
Later in the evening, I showed her around town since she has never been in this city before.
She stayed till after dinner as well, and she decided to stay the night at a relative's house and invited me over for dinner the next day. We kept in touch forever from that day on.
