Odysseus and his men find a cave with food in it. They go inside, hoping for hospitality, but a Cyclops comes inside and it is clear that he is angry.
On three... one, two...

When Odysseus tells the Cyclops where him and his men come from, the Cyclops asks where his ship is. Odysseus lies and says his ship was destroyed, and the Cyclops eats two of his men.
Nohbdy, Nohbdy's tricked me! Nohbdy's ruined me!
Odysseus quickly thinks of a plan to get out. He cannot kill the Cyclops, because the Cyclops is the only one who can move the rock blocking the exit. So, he gives the Cyclops some wine and begins to make and sharpen a weapon.
While the Cyclops sleeps, Odysseus and his men use the weapon to blind him.
Odysseus knows that the Cyclops regularly lets his sheep out of the cave, so him and his men ride under the sheep to get out. The Cyclops cannot call for help because Odysseus told him his name was Nohbdy.
Odysseus's pride gets the best of him and he feels he must tell the Cyclops his name. The Cyclops curses him, making his journey longer and more dangerous.
O hear me lord... grant that Odysseus... never see his home...!
