  •      Jan Hus (1370 - 1415) 
  • There should be no more corruption and your authority is wrong!
  • I shall now burn you at the stake for your heresy!
  • John Wycliffe (1330 - 1384)
  • We should follow the Bible and not the Church! The Bible tells us more about how we should follow God.
  • Martin Luther (1483 - 1546)
  • These are 95 things the Church is doing wrong. This better show them what to change.

  • Jan Hus spoke against the Pope's authority and wanted to end corruption in the Church. This influenced people to feel like they had a freedom of opinion with the Church's authority, causing reformation.
  • Martin Luther (1483 - 1546)
  •  I shall perform everything in my native language, German. Not Latin, so no one can understand me, but something everyone understands 
  • Lutheran Church
  • John Wycliffe followed the Bible not the Church's teachings.  He also translated the Bible into English. People could now understand the Bible resulting in them taking a new understanding of the Church's teachings.

  • Calvinist Church
  • I believe in hard work and the careful use of money. If you have success in business, that means you have God's Grace!
  • Anglican Church
  • The 95 Theses was a document, that Martin Luther wrote in 1517, that criticized or told the Church what they were doing wrong and what they should do. He posted the article on the Church door, where common news what told.

  • I want to remarry and divorce and not share power or wealth with the Church! Let me do what I want!
  • The Lutheran Church was a church that "emphasized the Bible". He did not use indulgences for they were not mentioned in The Bible. Martin Luther performed mass, baptism service, and sacred songs in German. He also translated the Bible into German. 
  • Everyone is a priest so everyone should read The Bible, not just the priests.  The Bible is the authority!
  • John Calvin was a French humanist. His book,  Institutes of the Christian Religion, was said to be very influential in the Reformation. He focused his attention to salvation only come's from God's grace. He created the Calvinist Church.
  • King Henry The 8th wanted to divorce and remarry but the Church would not let him. Also, he no longer wanted to share power and wealth with the Church. From this, he created the Anglican Church.
