Storyboard Text

  • Fighting on Home Ground
  • We have the advantage and we sha'll win, no excuses, we leave with a victory!
  • Patriotism
  • We as patriots of the US would like to give our lives onto defending our country!
  • Commander George Washington
  • I will give my troops the victory, we will not lose.
  • Due to the war being fought on the Americans' ground, this is an advantage for them, whereas this is familiar territory for sneak attacking, having quick escape ways, etc.
  • Manpower
  • Colonists would willingly give up their lives to defend their liberty, homes, children. families, and friends.
  • Poor Trained Soldiers
  • George Washington was the Continental Army's commander.  He was known for leading successful campaigns'.
  • Shortage in Supplies
  • This was a major weakness for the Continental Army, for they always were short of qualified and capable men. There were mainly no more than 20,000 troops at one time and place.
  • What am I going to do, so little soldiers I'm running out of time! But I am a leader I must be ready and strong.
  • Few Americans were trained enough to survive in battle. Many could shoot only good when behind protection, but when faced with a wall of well-prepared British soldiers, most colonists would likely turn and run.
  • They're too well trained everybody runnn!
  • Scarce items included guns, gunpowder, food, uniforms, and appropriate clothing. In winter, the Continental Army could easily be tracked by the bloody footprints left in the snow.
  • Due to the unavailable footwear for soldiers, blood tracks from our feet were left behind.
